Pralhad Joshi: News

Pralhad Joshi is an Indian politician who is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is serving as the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal, and Mines of India, as of 2021. He is the Member of Parliament representing the Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency. Joshi has also served as BJP Karnataka’s State President from 2014-2016. He was also in the panel of chairpersons of Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2018. Joshi gained first-ever media attention with RSS during 1992-1994 when they organized a movement to hoist the National flag at Idgah Maidan, Hubli, Karnataka. Recently, the order by Karnataka High Court was approved by the Supreme Court where it restored the ownership of the maidan to the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation. Joshi was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019 general elections. In 2019, he was appointed as the Cabinet Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second term government and was sworn in as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines.
